Brain Man VR is wholly owned by Neuroformed Ltd, a neuroscience consultancy and communications company inaugurated in 2012.
Brain Man VR successfully delivered a multiplayer virtual reality team building experience to the World Economic Forum in 2022.
The co-founders met while working at Fundamental VR (an immersive medical and surgical simulation company based in London/Boston) and decided to join forces on a project aimed at the intersection of the rapidly-expanding EdTech and XR sectors.
Advisers include the head of maths at a London secondary school, former CTO of Vevo who has been developing AI-facilitated educational tools for the past five years and a panel of 14-15 year old user testers who will be taking their Maths GCSE in 2025.
The aim of Pizza Maths is to capitalize on the enthusiasm with which many parents will do everything in their power to help motivate their children to achieve better educational outcomes to build a profitable spin-off company: Maths Quest VR.
The VR app will be built in Unity, deployed in the first instance on highly-affordable Meta Quest VR headsets (but later also on Pico, Vive, Varjo, Valve Index etc) and sold in the Meta and Steam VR app stores.
Wherever possible the AI implementation will use singexisting plugins for AI enabled speech-to-text (e.g. Whisper AI plugin) and LLM responses to questions (Open AI plugin). The lion's share of the AI development will be to filter the raw LLM responses to ensure accuracy of feedback and appropriateness of tone for the teenaged users and ideally to deploy it on the VR headset so that the AI maths tutor can be consulted even in the absence of a good wifi connection.
